2015 WWE Money in the Bank Results Coverage (Updated)

Welcome to 2015 WWE Money in the Bank results coverage. The latest edition of the pay-per-view was held from the Nationwide Arena in Ohio on Sunday, June 14th. Among the big matches on the card are the Money in the Bank ladder match for a briefcase containing the WWE championship contract. There’s also a second ladder match in which Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Dean Ambrose.

2015 MITB Kickoff Show

The Kickoff Show featured Renee Young, Booker T, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. There was a backstage segment with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose sitting in the locker room. Ambrose had the championship belt in hand and they discussed tonight’s ladder matches. Dean asked if he’s going to surprise him with a cash in after they win tonight. Reigns told him he’d be first to know and the two shook hands. Renee Young introduced Stephanie McMahon on the split screen for an interview where Steph said none of The Authority will be involved in Seth’s match tonight. She also mentioned that Seth knows what risk he faces if he underperforms. They sent it to ringside for JBL, Michael Cole and Lawler and the pre-show match.

R-Truth vs. King Barrett

Truth was able to duck two Bull Hammer elbows late in the match. Barrett caught him to go for Winds of Change on the second attempt, but Truth countered and rolled up Barrett for the win. Post-match, he celebrated calling himself king and putting on Barrett’s crown.

Winner: R-Truth defeated King Barrett via pinfall.

The commentary crew reminisced about the late “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. A video package was shown with highlights from throughout his legendary career, including his Hall of Fame induction by his two sons.

2015 MITB Main Pay-Per-View

As the pay-per-view started all of the superstars and divas were assembled on stage as they tolled the bell ten times for the late Dusty Rhodes. Vince McMahon was among those on stage alongside Triple H, Stephanie, Seth Rollins and John Cena. Daniel Bryan was also there front of the row of stars to his wife. They played the American Dream theme song after the bell tolled as fans clapped and danced in the crowd. The MITB video package was shown profiling the top matches.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Kane vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Neville

Towards the finish, Reigns was able to take down Kofi and then dodged Orton. He hit a big Spear to take down Orton and then set the ladder up with nobody else in sight. As he got near the top, the lights went out with Bray Wyatt images flashing on screen. As the lights returned, Wyatt was standing at the bottom side of the ladder and tipped it over. Reigns landed on the mat and Wyatt grabbed him for a Sister Abigail to knock Reigns out of the ring. Wyatt walked out of the ring past all the other stars laying on the floor. Sheamus crawled back in the ring and made the climb, with Neville rushing in to give a fight. Sheamus eventually fought him off and retrieved the briefcase for the win to become the new MITB contract holder.

Winner: Sheamus won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and now holds the MITB briefcase with a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match contract for any time, any place.

Paige vs. Nikki Bella (c) - Divas Championship Match

Nikki had Paige up for the Rack Attack late, but Paige escaped and countered with a PTO for a very near fall. Moments after, Nikki and Paige fought on one of the ring corners, punching back and forth but landed a shot on each other at the same time. Both Paige and Nikki fell to the outside floor on different ring sides. From under the ring near Nikki, Brie crawled out. Paige got back in the ring and grabbed Brie to pull her inside thinking it was Nikki. They traded rollups with Paige getting a 3-count. Her music played and Lilian announced Paige as winner but Brie revealed it was her. Paige kicked her down to the outside of the ring. Meanwhile, Nikki snuck in the other side of the ring and punched Paige down, then hit the Rack Attack for the winning pin to retain her title.

Winner: Nikki Bella defeated Paige via pinfall to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

Big Show vs. Ryback (c) - Intercontinental Championship Match

The Miz came out prior to the match with a microphone in hand. He cut a promo about Ohio being the place he left because you don't count if you aren't living in New York or LA. He said he should be the IC title holder if not for Big Show punching him down. The Miz said he won't be in the match but will be there to create an audio/visual masterpiece. Miz joined the commentary team for the match.

Ryback was knocked out of the ring at one point by Show. As Show went to the outside to retrieve Ryback, he threatened Miz to stay away. Miz backed off and sat on the crowd barrier. Show collected Ryback and rolled into the ring. Miz followed after him and smashed him with the mic several times causing the DQ. Next, Miz went over and hit Ryback with it too, then walked up the ramp backstage.

Winner: The Big Show defeated Ryback due to disqualification when The Miz interfered.

Kevin Owens vs. John Cena

An incredible match with plenty of big spots and traded nearfalls. Owens punched away on Cena telling him “stay down!” Cena responded by grabbing Owens and hitting the AA for the win. Post-match, Cena showed his respect for Owens, handing him the NXT belt and shaking his hand. He raised up Owens’ arm and then Owens kicked Cena to the outside before going out to Powerbomb Cena on the apron.

Winner: John Cena defeated Kevin Owens via pimfall.

Prime Time Players vs. The New Day (c) - Tag Team Championship Match

Titus O’Neil had a pinfall late but Big E broke it up. E then hit a spear to take Young off the apron. Moments later, Titus hit his finisher for the big pinfall win.

Winners: The Prime Time Players defeated New Day via pinfall to become new WWE tag team champions.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (c) - WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match

During the bout, Rollins kept bashing Ambrose on the knee and worked it over, causing injury. Late in the match, Rollins was able to set up the ladder and start his climb, but Ambrose managed to crawl inside the ring and climbed up the ladder to try to stop him. Both men got their hands on the title belt at the same time and ended up falling to the mat. Rollins was the one holding onto the title belt and was declared the winner. After the match riple H came down to celebrate with his champion. Rollins did an interview with JoJo and called himself the greatest of all time before the pay-per-view went off the air.

Winner: Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose in the ladder match to retain the WWE World Heavyweight championship.
