SmackDown Results 12/26/14


SmackDown results from Sioux City, IA:

Hulk Hogan arrived out to announce he would be Smackdown General Manager tonight. Seth Rollins came out to interrupt and continued his spiel about being the future of WWE and how things have been in the toilets since The Authority was ousted. Rollins told Hogan to endorse him as the future but instead Hogan endorsed Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler came out to trash talk with Rollins. Big Show came out and said he would knock out Ziggler and Hogan. That brought out Roman Reigns to intervene, leading to a tag team main event getting booked after Hogan polled the crowd if they wanted to see one later on.

Ryback defeated Kane via pinfall. Ryback hit the Shellshocked on Kane for the win.

Naomi defeated Alicia Fox via pinfall. Fox was on the top rope late with Naomi hitting a dropkick to knock her down and then a split-legged moonsault for the win.

Adam Rose defeated R-Truth via pinfall. The Bunny wasn’t at ringside for the match. Late in the match, Rose sent Truth shoulder-first into the ringpost and then hit the Party Foul for the win.

Dean Ambrose defeated Rusev due to disqualification. Late in the match, Ambrose avoided a charge by Rusev then hit his slingshot clothesline from the ropes. After an elbow drop off the corner, Ambrose had a near fall. The two went to ringside where Ambrose hit Rusev from behind and then threw him into the crowd barrier. Suddenly, Bray Wyatt appeared and ran down Ambrose to knock him down, causing a DQ. Post-match, Ambrose was able to recover after Wyatt tossed him into the announcers table and timekeeper’s area. Wyatt began to throw steel chairs towards Bray who started to retreat as Ambrose’s theme song played on.The match was for the United States Championship which Rusev retained due to the DQ.

Jimmy Uso defeated The Miz via pinfall. Late in the match, Miz told Jimmy he can help him and his family, offering a hand. Jimmy looked like he was giving it some thought but then superkicked Miz as Miz tried to start up a “Uso” chant. Another superkick followed and then a splash from the top rope to give Jimmy the win.


Roman Reigns & Dolph Ziggler defeated Seth Rollins and The Big Show via pinfall. Late in the match, Rollins and Reigns were the legal men. Rollins managed to hit a superkick for the near fall. After a backdrop attempt from Reigns, Rollins landed on his feet. Show and Ziggler got into the match. Reigns speared Show down. Rollins tossed Ziggler out of the ring. Reigns also went to the outside with J&J going after him and Rollins hitting a suicide dive on Reigns. Ziggler recovered to take down J&J. Meanwhile, Rollins was distracted enough that Reigns managed to get in and hit a spear for the win.
