Raw Results 01/06/14


Raw results from Baltimore, MD:

The opening segment had Ric Flair come to the ring as part of Old School night.  Randy Orton came out with both his title belts to interrupt and called Flair overrated, after asking The Authority to reconsider giving Cena a title rematch.  Flair questioned Orton as a champion, saying in his day the title was defended 7 days a week.  Orton told Flair times have changed and called him overrated.  As tensions got higher, Orton was going to go after Flair, but John Cena came to the ring.  Cena hugged Flair and chastised Orton for what he said, before challenging Orton to "dance."  Orton backed out of the ring and grabbed both belts before backing up the ramp.

There was an update on Jerry Lawler's health, saying his latest nausea wasn't a sign of a heart attack but that he just had some seafood that didn't sit well.

Rey Mysterio and The Usos defeated Daniel Bryan, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan via pinfall.  Late in the match, Bryan tagged himself in as Rowan came to the corner.  Harper slapped Bryan's back to tag himself in, causing a staredown between the two.  Bryan left the ring to the apron, but moments later Harper was rolled up by one of the Usos for the winning pin.

They showed a video hyping Batista's return and noted he will officially be in the 2014 Royal Rumble match.

Raw GM Brad Maddox noted that Damien Sandow and Great Khali would have a rematch tonight due to the bad finish in their match last week.  The fans choose the referee from Sgt. Slaughter, Arn Anderson or Bob Backlund.

Kane and Maddox had a confrontation backstage with Kane bringing up Maddox talking about him when he wasn't at Raw last week.  Kane told him he might never be heard from again as a bit of a disguised threat.

They showed Big E Langston walking backstage.  Nikolai Volkoff was singing the Soviet anthem, then Ted Dibiase was seen with his Million Dollar Title.  IRS told Dibiase he better pay his taxes.  Langston laughed about it and kept going.

Big E Langston defeated Curtis Axel via pinfall in a non-title match.  The match lasted a few minutes, with Langston hitting the Big Ending for the win.  Ryback was on commentary during the match.

Roddy Piper came out to the ring for Piper's Pit and talked about being "Old School" before it was even cool.  The Shield soon interrupted him to come to the ring. The Shield got into it with Piper after he told them only one current superstar can hold his own on the mic like Piper can: CM Punk.  It then turned into a segment where Piper suggested maybe there's dissension amongst the members of Shield, causing Reigns to get in his face.  He told Piper to never touch him again or he'd break his old ass in half.  CM Punk and New Age Outlaws rushed to the ring to clear it of The Shield, saving Piper.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara via pinfall.  The match lasted about two minutes, with Del Rio hitting a Superkick on a kneeling Sin Cara to get the pin.  Post-match, he got on the mic and promised he'd eliminate Batista from the Rumble to win the 2014 match.

Backstage, Daniel Bryan spoke to Luke Harper and Erick Rowan of The Wyatt Family.  He said he joined the family so he could learn and be transformed from a man into a monster.  He told them that unlike them, he was a tag team champion, so he asked for them to let him contribute more.  He said next week he wants to team with them again.  Bray Wyatt showed up and said that Bryan will be teaming up with him.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated The Real Americans via pinfall in a non-title match.  Late in the match, Cody managed to escape and get a hot tag to Goldust who eventually hit his finisher on Swagger for the win.  Post-match, Rhodes was still feeling it from an attempted Patriot Lock by Swagger.

The Great Khali defeated Damien Sandow via pinfall.  Ranjin Singh was back at ringside for Great Khali. Sgt. Slaughter was voted in as the special referee by fans at 55% over Arn Anderson 30% and Bob Backlund 15%.  Khali hit a big chop on Sandow to get the pin, but Sandow had a foot on the bottom rope.  Sandow complained to Slaughter about it, but ended up in a Cobra Clutch.

Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar arrived to the ring to cut a promo, bringing up old school superstars like Sammartino, Hogan and Austin.  Heyman said only one man reigns surprised today and is WWE World Heavyweight Champion.  He said whether it's Orton or Cena after the Rumble, their time as champ will be limited because Lesnar will be going after them.  They brought up Mark Henry getting attacked by Brock last week and getting beat down.

Mark Henry's music hit and he came to the ring with an apparent rib injury from last week.  He went after Lesnar and got in some strikes, but Lesnar grounded him and put on the Kimura Lock, appearing to eventually snap Henry's arm, breaking it.  Lesnar tore off Henry's shirt to reveal bandages from last week's beating.  Lesnar and Heyman left the ring to head up the ramp, but Big Show's music hit.  Lesnar got back in the ring, taunting Show to get in.  Show stared at Lesnar, then climbed over the top rope.  Brock quickly fled the ring to join Heyman on the outside.  Heyman started to trash talk Show to distract him, while Lesnar went in the ring for a sneak attack.  Show said it coming and tossed Lesnar across the ring, causing Lesnar to flee again.  Lesnar started to back up the ramp staring at Show after what just happened.

Alicia Fox & Aksana defeated The Bella Twins via pinfall.  During the match, Cole talked about Mae Young being sick lately and said they are wishing her all the best.  Late in this matchup, Brie went for a dropkick from the second rope of the corner area, but Aksana managed to avoid it, then grabbed the pinfall.

Michael Cole noted there will be a big announced Wednesday night streaming on the WWE website.

Rikishi, Scotty Too Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay defeated 3MB via pinfall.  During the match, Scotty did The Worm to get the crowd going.  Later, Rikishi got a hot tag from Scotty and was able to clean house on all 3MB members.  Sexay eventually hit the Hip hop Drop and Rikishi hit his big butt splash on Mahal to collect the win, before the three faces danced in the ring to celebrate.

Michael Cole said Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt will face The Uso Brothers on next week's Raw.

They had a segment where The Godfather brought other WWE legends out on stage and they were all announced by name, including Ric Flair.  Bad News Barrett's music hit and he came out to interrupt, banging his gavel on the podium out there.  He said the legends took 25-year-old photos of themselves and signed autographs for the seven people who know of them.  He said they're all doomed to anonymity and he will he take great pleasure in frogetting their names the second the leave.  He said the WWE Universe will forget their names too.

Mean Gene Okerlund came out on stage and joked about having a 1-900 line that fans could call for more insider info.  He then introduced New Age Outlaws who came out to the ring and did their promo routine including "two words for you."  CM Punk was introduced for the main event match.

Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk via pinfall.  During the match, Ambrose got on the apron to run some interference, but Road Dogg yanked him down.  The Outlaws got beat up a bit by Ambrose and Rollins before Punk hit a suicide dive onto them outside.  Back in the ring, Reigns hit a big punch on Punk for a two count.  The match continue as Reigns went for his spear but Punk leapfrogged it and rolled him into a near fall.  Reigns got to his feet first, but Punk delivered a kick and covered for another near fall.  Punk then went for GTS, with Reigns elbowing out.  Punk hit his big knee in the corner and then attempted the bulldog move, but Reigns shoved him off.  Punk got distracted again by Ambrose on the apron.  As Punk turned around, Reigns hit the spear for the pinfall.

Post-match, The Shield began beating up Punk and the Outlaws.  Jake "The Snake" Roberts' theme music hit and he came to the ring carrying his classic bag.  He got into the ring after Punk hit an airplane spin and GTS on Ambrose to leave him on the mat.  Jake dumped out a white snake from the bag onto Ambrose, then rubbed it on his face.  Jake held the snake up then stuck his tonge out for the snake to kiss.  Jake smiled at the camera to finish off the show.
